hey, just wanted to say, while i'm eagerly awaiting the new album, i've just read an interview in which andre says he doesn't rap at all in his section of the album. I mean i can understand that people move on and want to do other things but still isn't this quite drastic. Even cee-lo was rather cautious and included some rap songs. Although i'm still looking forward to the album, as i'm curious to listen to what andre will have to offer i do feel a bit let down.
Otherwise, has anyone heard the new Big Gipp album, is it worth buying?
no matter who's doing what on the album.. it's gonna be fie as always by outkast.. we'vebeen waiitng on this album for so long i predict a sellout!! look out there now!! they on the move!!!

Posted by: Hendrixxx on September 3, 2003 09:55 AMmay i say if this is the best group in the world, may those others (ho's) who try fall.
Posted by: Melvin on September 4, 2003 01:00 PMDamn, I'm SO feelin' "Hey Ya". Outkast proves that they've been listenin' to the same shit I was listenin' to in the 80's, plus a little Stereolab. They're at the forefront of the Black Rock Revival - funny that all this New Wave shit is coming from the dirty south! Now I really get the meaning of Outkast, cause I'm sure while I was gettin' made fun of in my teen years they were too. Fuck, I bet these guys even listened to The Smiths. I heard "Hey Ya" on KROQ in Los Angeles, and they NEVER play any black shit whatso-fucking-ever, so you know this shit is hittin'! All I got to say is, PLEASE LET ME DIRECT A VIDEO!!! Remember, these were the first guys to work with Slick Rick out of jail. Anyways, Dre, Big Boi, keep pushing the evolution of hip hop. Thanks for making a song that I will have memories of - and hopefully mammories too!

Posted by: fuol on September 30, 2003 10:23 AMSome people are afraid of change, innovation, and variety. Those that do something different are most times outsted especially when its something that deviates from the normal social and behavorial customs that we are used to. People, don't hate innovation but give it a chance, but don't force, don't hate it, but don't love it, unless it deserves it. It takes skill to make music, it takes courage to try new things, I admire the music because it encompasses both skill and courage and doesn't sound half bad. Growth is in order.
