Posted by usounds at August 04, 2003 10:20 AMsingle got changed up again. video just got shot. i love atlanta.
Posted by: soopa doopa koopa on August 5, 2003 05:05 PMVery different and refreshing from what I've heard and seen so far. I beleive they are taking things to the next level. They are surly paving the way for other artists. Andre's hey ya is brillant. It shows his flexibility and creative mind. That is all I have for now. Until next time. Be easy.
Posted by: Minister Payne on September 5, 2003 06:22 AMThis video was straight crunk... as Lil Jon would say. Andre was really gettin' off. He was doing stuff that only he would be able to do. Everybody will bet trying to that dance in parties, clubs, shows, wherever there is bangin' music. The beat... alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright,... because u think u got it!!
Posted by: MzKitty02 on September 5, 2003 02:11 PMBoth the Hey Ya and the The Way You Move videos are the most original ones out there. Keep doin your thang OutKast.
And in the "Hey Ya" music video whats the green casket for???
Posted by: DoubleO on September 8, 2003 10:32 PMHey Ya is one of the most innovative songs in Hip-Hop or Rock in a very long time. Keep doin it Outkast.
Posted by: Dex on September 9, 2003 12:10 AMI LOVE OUTKAST. I could not sit still during Andre's Hey Ya. You think you got it oh you think you got it?? Shake it like a polaroid picture........He is a genius....Big Boi video is hot too, lots of beautifuls and funky bass line. I am so glad they are taking this very monotonous hip hip game to a very high level.
Posted by: KittyKat on September 11, 2003 11:06 AMin the words of a3k. "what's cooler than being cool?" "ice cold!"
Quick points.
1. Amazing way to release a double album. Each of the talents release their own "solo" project but under the Outkast banner. Ingenious.
2. BB continues to dig deep into the funk filled 60's and 70's pulling out some amazing beats and pushing the envelope of hip-hop to another level.
3. a3k. This guy is a fucking genius. His ability to take a hook and turn it into something that literally MOVES you. I dare anyone to sit still during "Hey Ya". Hell even my grandmother was bobbing her head and smiling as she watched the video. Talk about power. Of the two cd's I am looking forward to "The Love Below" the most.
As far as a3k doing his "own thing" I can completely respect and appreciate that. I look forward to his continuing evolution wherever it may take him.
No matter what anyone says, Outkast has and will continue to change the landscape of hip-hop with their originality.

Posted by: deax on September 12, 2003 04:21 PMThe Love Below is genius.
I can't stop listening to it. Sounds as if it has alot of influences from artists such as Prince, Curtis Mayfield, Bootsy, and Sly (the family stone. Andre has paved the way for other artists. I think this album will change music as we know it, by crossing many genres. Dre really show's his creativity on this one. Don't expect too much rappin from him.
Posted by: Bleu on September 16, 2003 09:06 AMi love outkast ....always have always will....from that first album....too atliens....too aquemini....to stankonia...and now this unique mix is crazy ....can't wait to hear it
Posted by: Naeystro da Great on September 17, 2003 09:10 AMThe hottest line of the Decade.... "lend me some suga... I am yo Neighbor" What do you know about barrowing/lending small items from neighbors like they were the corner store?
Both songs/videos are more then we could have hoped. We all saw it coming but DAMN! I predict top 5 on hip hop and pop charts (though "ice cold" is all FUNK). I am semi-psychic. don't hate!
It has been a long time since I have been this excited over an upcoming release. Both Hey Ya and The Way You Move have been keeping me alive these past couple of weeks. Finally, people who like good music have a reason (two, actually!) to turn on MTV. This is the kick in the ass that mainstream rap music needs. Aren't we all tired of watching videos featuring slow motion shots of "bitches" with vacant expressions massaging the rap artist while he does business with his fellow ganstas? Andre and Big Boi are so far removed from that nonsense. Words cannot describe the sound of Hey Ya. One of my friends and fellow OutKast fans said it best: They are from another galaxy. That's all you can say to describe them. We are witnessing the Beatles of rap music, and they are about to release their Sgt. Pepper!
Posted by: Robert on September 20, 2003 01:55 PMThis Kast album has taken the influences of their first four albums, split it down the middle, and created the single most creative album in the history of hip hop...Dre holla atcha boi
Posted by: scootiouslefthand on September 23, 2003 02:11 PMWhat was Outcast thinking i love outcast but what the hell. i always loved there creativity but this was just to much. there was a little rap and the rap they did was crap. I Really liked the two hits, hey ya, the Way you move great but thats it. The best part of the album was Jay-Z on a single track. GOD i would not suggest anyone buying this album, this is one you ask your friend to borrow so that you can burn the few songs you like if any at all
Posted by: Herman on September 23, 2003 10:58 PMi love it. i've barely had time to listen to the love below because i just can't take speakerboxxx out. it's a shame, i know. give big boi some love. he deserves it.
Posted by: scott on September 24, 2003 01:26 AMI'm floored, I like Speakerboxxx much better, thought Love Below may grow on me. Go BB!
Posted by: JNYC on September 24, 2003 01:36 PMI'm floored, I like Speakerboxxx much better, though Love Below may grow on me. Go BB!
Posted by: JNYC on September 24, 2003 01:36 PMLISTEN TO "VIBRATE"
THAT SONG MADE ME CRY.
I AM A 27 YEAR OLD MALE AND I HAVE NOT CRIED IN OVER 5 YEARS.
OUTKAST IS HIP HOP. NO ONE CAN TOUCH THEM.
FUCK ALL THAT OTHER SHIT AND KEEP THIS ALBUM IN ROTATION FOR LIFE!!!!
Posted by: neil on September 24, 2003 03:48 PMI copped the double CD yesterday with some reservations... after reading the VIBE article that suggested that this might be the start of the end for Outkast as a group I was reluctant to listen to two solo projects, but I have to admit, this shit is tight. tighter than the neptunes clones album and more unique. this might be my favorite album of all time. period.
I've been an Outkast fan since 7th grade when i first saw the "Player's Ball" video. Now I'm a senior in college, and my respect and appreciation for music has evolved as much as Outkast has. I love these cats.
I really feel Dre's "The Love Below"... I can listen to the whole thing nonstop. There are some tracks that I can just listen to on loop for days. I went through "Speakerboxxx" once and its tight as well, but for some reason I can't get Dre's CD out of my CD player. This is what hiphop has been waiting for. I am so fucking tired of bling bling shit... this album will bring new respect to the genre.
Posted by: Mirateck on September 24, 2003 08:02 PMThey've been my favorite ever since I first heard Player's Ball. I'll always have their back. I'ma buy the album today. I heard a few songs on the net and I already know the joint is crackin'.
Posted by: Mr. Magee on September 25, 2003 12:44 PMOutkast has always been my favorite group. As I expected, they didn't dissapoint with "Speakerboxxx / The Love Below". These brothers are musical geniuses. Andre 3000's song "Spread" takes his brilliant lyrics, along with the best horn rifts I've ever heard, and combines them to make a masterpiece. If I can get past that song, I might find another favorite on his disc. Big Boi's "The Way You Move", "drip drip drop, there goes and eargasm", "yell out "timber" when you fall through the chop shop", Sleepy Brown's voice on the hook, need I say more? How can you not say they aren't the greatest rap group of all time?
Posted by: Bama Boi on September 26, 2003 09:40 AMThey are geniuses but I think they are resting on their laurels and taking advantage of their fan-base by going all artsy and sh*t. The best albums will always have the balance between an artistic risk and self-discipline. This album could have been much tighter, probably one CD. A good album, but I think they might be making a turn in the wrong direction.
Posted by: Kenny Blankenship on September 26, 2003 10:04 AMI just copped the new Outkast cd and it is the shiznit. At least half of it is. I have yet to listen to SpeakerBoxx since I can't stop playing The Love Below. This is with out question one of the most important albums in hip-hop history. And "Ice Cold" delivers the goods big time. No disrespect to Big Boi, but Andre has taken his shit to another level. I can't wait to give the second disc a listen.
wut other rapper could mesh a 60's beatles feel with funk rap. outkast has always been the best because they have a vision and they aren't afraid to follow it. a3k with his spaceage genius and BB with his flawless style, they are the perfect team. if they break up, i will be happy that i have at least been able to hear the albums they have put out so far, because no other rap artist can compare
Posted by: lay-z on September 27, 2003 02:44 AMBig Boi's album is great, but Andre does me in with The Love Below. It takes guts to start an Outkast album with jazz piano, and singing! Song after song of Princelike funk/pop/soul. A bit too Princelike at times, but more honest lyrically. Dre isn't religious like Prince, so it is more fun. Album of the year. Album of the milenium.
And if you hate it, you hate yourself.
Posted by: HeyYaismybitch on September 27, 2003 10:44 AMFirst of all, Big Boi is my favorite pimp, period! He delivers here, mos def!!!! I really enjoy his CD when I'm crunk. His CD was worth my money alone, fa sho. He's got great tracks, but
"Unhappy", "Knowing", "Church", and "Bust" are plain classics. Can't forget "Ghettomusic". What other rap group you know can have you so amped one second, then drop Patti LaBelle on you in the same song, and get away wit it? I don't know, either, but 'Kast (wit a 'K') can!
I wasn't too sure about Dre's CD during the intro, honestly, because with A3K, you never know what you're gonna get (like a box of chocolates, right?) But I tell you, I love his CD! From the intro to "...Incomplete", Dre takes us all to another level, a welcomed level. Dre's no Luther by all means, but I love what he had to say on this CD, and the way he gave it to us in doses. He just talks to your soul, and you can't ignore him. This has got to be the most solid and enjoyable project I've heard in...too long. Stank you smelly much, 'Kast, for brining it to us one mo' 'gin!
I think that this double album is the best wit out a doubt.........the best in years. Dre (A3K) reaches another level that no one can touch. As for Big Boi, he is a lyrical and beat geniuss. Thats all that can be said
Posted by: drjay23 on September 28, 2003 01:26 AMSHE ALIVE BUT THIS ALBUM IS NOT. I AM A HUGE KAST FAN AND I COPT IT THE DAY IT CAME OUT AND WAS LET DOWN FROM THE GET GO.SOME OF THESE SONGS SOUND LIKE ROOKIES.IF TWO NEW ARTIST WERE TO COME OUT WITH THIS DEMO THERE IS NO WAY THEY WOULD KEEP MORE THAN TWO SONGS.BUT HOWEVER I DO LOVE HEY YA
AND MABEY AFTER THEY GET DONE DOING WHAT EVER IT IS THEY ARE DOING THEY CAN GET BACK TO NORMAL.
SHOUT OUT TO AUDTRY
THE ALBUM..... WHAT CAN I SAY? IT'S INSPIRING, INTRIGUING AND JUST DOWN RIGHT ENTERTAINING. I WAS HESITANT BUT IT'S ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS I'VE HEARD IN A LOOONG TIME. BIG BOI'S STUFF IS SUPER TIGHT BUT THE LOVE BELOW.... MAN I CAN NIT GET IT OUT OF MY PLAYER. SHE LIVES IN MY LAP IS OUTSTANDING. PLEASE STAY TOGETHER. ONE

Posted by: TATIANA on October 25, 2003 06:07 PMThere has never been a rap group that has moved me more than Outkast. As far as I’m concerned Dre is the is the most complete artist of my generation. I have never heard anyone better. Hopefully they will get recognized this year by winning Album of the year song of the year…etc.
Oh yea I was also really feelin vibrate….it brought up so many emotions when I heard it…can’t explain why…..Please fellas don’t ever retire.
I've listened to the album, and I think Big Boi & Dre are the smartest asrtists out. It takes one thing to come out with a hit, but to switch it up, and give people something to talk about is something else. If you really think about it, since napster, the music industry has taken a big hit. To release an album as funky as this one(2) you have to know, the world will be in a buzz. I dig both albums. I'm only 32, but I remember hearing The Beatles, The monkeys, as well as Curtis Mayfield, The Commodores, and Kool & The Gang. I really dig it. I thank you Big Boi & Andre for giving me something to listen to. You are truly entertainers. I met you guys in Tuskegee Alabama, and again bumped into you at the mall in Atlanta. So down to earth. Don't ever chage. Peace
