Posted by: Jay on August 31, 2003 10:25 AMThe song by 3000, is a stroke of genius! never has there been a rapper able to combine more than one art form of music and represent as a sensual blend of different era's of music, it's a mixture of 60's folk rock and electro all blended in with masterful lyrics! Full props to you Andre 3000, for bringing something new and different to the game that hasnt be done before, it's shows originality, creative thinking, innovation and musicmanship in one song! , it's about music and melody! This is going to blow up!
Posted by: Adrian on September 1, 2003 06:04 PMAndre did it again, hes twisted 60 music with rap iventing another rap style 2 his others. He has made me more intrested ,no let me correct that very intrested in hearing outcast new album.

Posted by: Renee' on September 6, 2003 12:21 PMThis is a great song but what the helllll is andre doing . Why isn't he rappin? He is the greatest rapper of all time hands down. I guess he just wants to sing. All of there albums are fie so even though things don't look good history tells us that this one will be good too. I just wish that the albums would hurry up and come out. Good songs very unique.

Posted by: JayinMD on September 8, 2003 05:26 PMAndre 3000 is a modern day Sly Stone with a hiphop flavor. When I heard this song it just grew on me like a vine. Props to the R&B stations for not abandoning this tune and giving it an opportunity to be heard by all.
Posted by: sly stone99 on September 8, 2003 06:08 PMAndre 300 is the man and his new song hey Ya!!!! its tight freshness now fella whats cooler the nbeing cool ..ice cold!!!!
Posted by: MATT on September 8, 2003 06:50 PM3000* opps my bad
Posted by: MATT on September 8, 2003 06:52 PMThis song is very catchy and the video is very creative, different, unique..... I love it. Normally I'm against buying cd's because their prices are so high and I don't like what the RIAA is doing, but when you come across this much talent and really enjoy what you hear. I have no problem buying a CD and feeling satisfied all around.
Posted by: Juanizo on September 9, 2003 07:51 AMda song is thunder iight iight iight andre 3000 ain't 4 play. he's one of a kind. da man just comes a new all da times.. do ya thang andre 300o
Posted by: Lou Da Shysta on September 9, 2003 12:31 PMInterested to see the band that Andre3000 is thinking about forming... Sounds good to me, Hip-Hop is dead as far as I am concerned. Music videos are dead, its all about the live show, unfortunitly rap/hip-hop concerts are about as boring as spanish bingo. Keep it rockin' Icecold3000
Posted by: SickStyle on September 9, 2003 04:42 PMThe song is sooo tight. And dre has been quite stylish as of late. I need to see where he get those nice ass outfits from. Keep doin it dawg!!
Posted by: crapshooter on September 9, 2003 05:06 PMAndre 3000 dropped a phat one this time y'all!! Hey Ya is the greatest feel good song I've heard in a very very long time. That shit comes on and I just have to smile. My wife and my baby girl totally dig that thing too. It amazing what a good mood we are all in when we hear Hey Ya. Thanks and 'nuff props to you Andre 3000. Keep bringin' the phunk! Props to Big Boi to tho'!
IT's a HipHop song because he is singing but "hey Ya" instantly goes in my vault as an Outkast Classic! From the beatles influence rock to Dre tellin everybody to "shake it like a Polarod Picture" The song goes Hard!!!
Keep reppin fa ya self because ya reppin fa the south too!

You know a song is a winner when, as soon as you hear it, you must, MUST go out and buy the album. Very few artists can manage to have this effect on the listener. Even fewer are still alive. And keep in mind that I am a metalhead. This song, and even more, Outkast in general, evoke memories of Fishbone, The Beatles, Stevie Ray Vaughan, And Aretha Franklin in their creative heydays, and the way they managed to cross out of their own genres without sacrificing their ideals and creativity. Thank you Dre, thank you for being funkier than any dozen people should ever be allowed to be.
Posted by: Dan "Damn Deal Done" Thompson on September 10, 2003 08:54 PMThis is definately a new sound, excellent work that sounds completely unique.I feel refreshed after seeing the video, a truly rare thing I've never said about a music video before. These guys are original, and in this day and age where everything sounds the same they don't sound like anything else.Good times.
Posted by: Drew Deezy on September 10, 2003 10:02 PMthe new hottness
Posted by: pat on September 11, 2003 11:16 AMi dont know how he can up with it
but i hope the rest of the albums just as good
props on hey ya!!!
as a fan of punk rock i dont usually listen to rap as the rap music these days has terrible rapping and beats with absolutely no change-ups. i hear HEY YA! on a college rock station and just smile. you outcast fellas a 20 years ahead of everyone in rap. absolutely fabulous song. like hearing stevie wonder sing superstition for the first time. you deserve all the accolades that have come to you. thanks for making good music cause theres not much out there these days!
Posted by: shorty on September 11, 2003 02:29 PMMy brothers from a differnt mother has done it again. A broke College student Struggling to pursue my own musical madness, I'm inspired to push on every time outkast drops a new song or album. Dre is A mad scientist for Hey Ya. I felt like there is still hope out there when I saw the video for the first time. All you can do is smile. I'm outkasted and claimin true. If you wanna witness creativity and be inspired get any outkast album.
I'm from the state where they can't count votes, and I ain't lost hope, and I ain't like dope Til I heard elevators on the radio!!!! Peace to all the outkasts out there.
whatever 3000 does is worth gold in its own weight.dont care about what people say 3000 you carry on do your thang .you are the most creative artist usa has seen in aeons.
Posted by: rabulisten on September 15, 2003 08:31 AMThere are no words to explain how great hey ya is god bless outkast. Thanks for the change!!!!!!
Posted by: NTURNALFLAME on September 15, 2003 07:07 PMNow matter what I'm doing When I hear Hey Ya I stop and dance. There are not many songs that I wait for hours to catch on MTV or on the radio. The song is refreshing, it is not boasting about cars, jewlery, murder and hoes. This is what true hip hop is about making you dance and enjoy life, and bringing a smile to your face. Lets go to a GO-GO- feel the Hip-Hop and enjoy the Funk while dancing like a Punk rock college kid in Dallas. This song has the potential to be a #1 song and win many awards for its originality. I cant wait to buy the CD!! I might buy 3 or 4!
Posted by: RocQue Quest on September 16, 2003 10:19 AMIt's a great song... but... what happened to da 'poet'? ...Andre WAS one of the best rappers of all time, but... i don't know what the fuck is he been smokin' or sniffin'... He used to be my favourite, but now i gotta give prop's to Big Boi for keep doin' his thang... I hope someday Dre'll be back for us Rap fans...
Posted by: CR on September 17, 2003 08:42 AM"Ok 3000, this some hope money, I hope you go out there and do ya thing, if not, you gonna mess it up for all us...........Greyhound don't float on Water...."
Posted by: AtlantaPrettyBoy on September 18, 2003 07:02 AMdre is the best. i am on the way to blowing up to and i hope to creat some wonderfull music with him. big boi is doin his thang to. just remember my name. I MADE DIS BEAT or call me Range Soprano
Posted by: Range Roprano on September 19, 2003 08:58 AMI made a eror on my name up ther its Soprano not Roprano
Posted by: Range Soprano on September 19, 2003 09:00 AMThis song is kicking my ass! Ever since I saw the video it's been stuck in my head, making me clap my hands, smile, and shake. There is no cure. All I can do is listen to the song a few times a day and impatiently wait for that monster album to provide me with a full-on Outkast fix.
Much thanks to Andre 3000 for releasing some TRUE pop-- the kind that is irresistably happy-- and for matching it up with some truthful and clever lyrics. Stay ahead, Andre, but don't leave hiphop behind! We need you! By the way, it reminds me of one of my favorite groups, Puffy Ami Yumi, a Japanese pop duo whose latest album keeps me smiling too.
yo this song is off da chain. and have ya'll seen da video? Dre has done it again he's a mastermind of his time.

Posted by: rita on September 19, 2003 09:49 PMWow! Fuckin.... wow... everybody is saying the same thing about this track ... its about time.

Posted by: R M on September 20, 2003 03:30 AMI just saw Andre's new video this morning for the first time! After I played it about 7 times I called my musicheads friends and told them about how awesome it is. I cant believe how much I like this song!!! If I can stop dancing and singing with Dre, Im going out to bug my DJ friends for some mixes. OH I dont think Im going to be able to wait until Tuesday for this album to drop!!!
Posted by: Nique on September 20, 2003 11:57 AMI finally heard the whole album. All I can say is OHHH Yea Dre!!! ;)
Posted by: Nique on September 20, 2003 08:35 PMHOLEY MOLEY - 'hey ya' is off the chain!! check it out!!
Posted by: ladygee on September 22, 2003 02:05 PMI'm so amazed and proud of all the changes hip hop has gone through...and as far as 'hey ya' I can't get that track off my mind...don't get me started on that raw ass video!!
Posted by: ladygee on September 22, 2003 02:09 PMI think that Hey Ya on Outcast is one of the best songs on that I've ever heard, please play it on the radio as much as you can, thanks
Posted by: Justin Seal on September 22, 2003 08:57 PMDa song is bangin
Posted by: Charmaine on September 23, 2003 04:44 PMI went into warehouse music yesterday to get my album and I got the last one! IM so lucky HELL YEA!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Nique on September 24, 2003 12:13 PMWhat a great tune!!! I am not much of a rap fan, more a headbanger, but the video and the song is a great change of pace! Iv'e told all my friends to check it out! I even heard it played on 92.3 K-Rock in NYC!!
Posted by: Bobby G on September 28, 2003 07:49 PMI never listened to Outkast before, but yesterday as I flipped through channels, my eyes were caught by alot of green for a rap video. It held my attention long enough for me to realize I wasn't listening to the usual rap/hip hop fare but to something special. Before long I was dancing to Andre 3000's music (I just found out his name today) and have been looking for the video every chance I get. Andre is a creative genius. This guy is going places, perhaps he'll pick up where Sly and Prince left off. That's the kind of talent I feel coming out of this artist. And what a relief not to see another video where scantily clad women shake their butts to cover for lousy rapping.
Posted by: Linda on September 28, 2003 11:18 PMReaaly cool song!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Christian Henriksen on September 29, 2003 07:40 AMI never heard of Outkast before but last week I looked up their songs on WindowsMedia and saw Hey Ya! Then I played it ---now I'm HOOKED!! I wish all of Outkast's music was like this - so creative and ingenious! And I say, enough with the SLEAZY FOUL-MOUTHED RAP LYRICS already! Keep that trash in the dump where it belongs......long live Hey Ya!
Posted by: Kathy on September 29, 2003 08:13 AMIt's so groovy i can't stop listening to it
Posted by: fuol on September 30, 2003 06:10 AMDoes anyone know who the british show announcer is on the black and white tv set in the "hey ya" video?
Posted by: KIllah B on September 30, 2003 09:57 AMWow....It's about time somebody brought somthing truly original to popular music made by black folk these days. How many more videos for rap tunes can we see, that are all about gangs of hoods flaunting cash. jewelry, whoas, and cars ? How many more of these vides can we see, before somebody has the epiphone, and realizes thats its all been done before ! When I first heard "Hey Ya" (yes...heard the song without the video first), I knew right away it was something new and diffrent, and couldn't really be placed into any kind of existing genre. It's so refreshing to see this guy do a jig that reminds me more of Prince, than ... I dunno, say like ... a gigazillion other black folk videos out there ? This is some original shit, and more rappers out there ought be humbled by it, while at the same time be inspired by it. I hope the rest of his album holds up...

Posted by: ghost town baton rouge on October 4, 2003 05:03 PMThis song is off the chain. I don't know how to describe it, but andre 3000 is brilliant. You know everytime he does something its going to be amazing, just like ms. jackson, to so fresh so clean, to Hey ya. I love his originality, not afraid to be different and to break away from the continuous repitive hiphop/rap now days. The video is AMAZING. I am obssesed with Outkast right now, and I can't get them out of my head. I just have one request for Dre 3000. Man, please, you and big boi, are probably the best rappers I have ever heard in my life, and you should also stick to rapping as well. Your lyrics and unique approach to rapping captivates everyone, and you shouldn't stop rapping man. OutKast is everlasting.
Posted by: Brandon on October 5, 2003 05:18 PMI Like the song. :)
Posted by: Darko on October 6, 2003 09:33 AMI don't care what kind of music you like, a reasonable person of sound mind can not refuse loving Hey Ya. It's music like this that gets my old ticker pumping and assures me that I am, infact, still alive. Outkast produces intelligent and palitable music for the ear, heart, and mind.
But the person who posted this, said it the best:
"whatever that boy 3000 is on
should be bagged up and sold on the steps of congress
that song is sick as a catholic preist"
Outcast and Hey Ya is finally what I have been saying, "Rap and Hip Hop will see its day end abruptly" Free stylin is such a joke, this is whats coming back "Feel Good Songs" MOTOWN stylin is back, no more killin, gangs, guns and stereo typin woman" Hey Ya and 3000 is bringing every 1 back together!
