Outkast and Rosa Parks Settle Case
ip-hop duo Outkast have agreed to record a song for a tribute album in honour of US civil rights icon Rosa Parks as part of a settlement ending a dispute over the rappers' use of Parks' name in a song.
December 1, 2005 will mark the 50th anniversary of Parks' refusal to give up her seat to a white man in a bus in segregated Montgomery, Alabama. Her act of defiance in 1955 touched off a 381-day boycott that historians say marked the beginning of the civil rights movement.
