NY TIMES Notices PitFall Kennels

James Patton said his cellphone, at the number listed in the ad, has been ringing every five minutes since the CD was released, and not always by prospective dog owners. Sometimes, he said, young fans call, "trying to talk to my brother or something like that."

Big Boi said Pitfall sold seven dogs in the week after the CD's release, more than double the company's average weekly tally. Puppies from the eight-year-old breeding company sell for $1,200 to $2,500.

Kast sold 234,000 copies last week, good enough to stay at the top of the charts for a second straight week, a feat that is getting harder and harder to do in the industry. Congratulations to the entire team from Stankonia.com.

OUTKAST #1! Sell over 500k copies in One Week!

In a week that will see more than two dozen new releases enter the Billboard albums chart, eight of them in the top 10, Outkast were able to outwit, outplay and outsell every other artist to place at #1.

The Atlanta duo moved more than 509,000 copies of their double album, Speakerboxxx/ The Love Below, according to SoundScan, to best the closest competition, Dave Matthews' Some Devil, by 40,000 copies.
